Thursday was a big day for the former flour mill
in Baldwinsville. The building, dating back to
1828, celebrated its grand opening as the Red Mill
Inn Thursday.
The Inn features 32 rooms and a conference center.
The $3 million construction project took less
than a year to complete. The former mill needed
a lot of work, especially with structural problems.
It sits on an island between the canal and Seneca
River, a location the owners call unique.
Red Mill Inn Co-owner Jake McKenna said, "We
looked at it and saw it as the final piece that
needed to be completed to complete this waterfront
development the village is undertaken. And we
thought this could be the gem at the end of the
village."
The grand opening comes one year to the day
the owners bought the building.
